These photos are not in order...except for the action shot of Molly-Dog in the first 2 photos.. :)
Here, Peter has just demolished our garden bed (around to the right-hand side of the house) and is using the soil to fill some of the holes we created in our lawn by digging out huge rocks! This process made my mower SO much happier!!
Clearly, Im not as interesting as something else happening down the hill...
First up, he widened the area around our gazebo slab...unfortunately the concreter, Scotty, took an incorrect measurement of our gazebo and we ended up with a slab that's just a little too small.
So Peter is just flattening out a little bit more of the ground around the slab so that Scotty can add a bit to it, to make it the right size :)
Here is my husband pretending to work on the chook pen...I think he felt a little guilty cos all the other men were working hard on the yard (ok, maybe he was helped along a little bit by a few certain 'looks' from me!)
There was a surprising number of rocks in my previous garden...these were then transfered onto my lawn, and it took several more 'go overs' by me to pick them up!
The more heavily soiled area to the left of this photo is were our drain (pipe) from our kitchen sink heads off across the paddock...over the years this has resulted in quite a bit of sinkage (no pun intended!) of the ground, so Pete was just topping it off for a neater look.
Sounds like quite a bit of work is being put into it! It must have been annoying to have the gazebo slab made too small. But lucky it's able to be fixed! And go Micky with the chook pen :) And yay for the rocks being gone :)It'll be good to see photos when it's all done!
ReplyDeleteBethy :) xo
Wow, I'm almost a month late to see these - I was thinking that you hadn't posted for ages, then found this.
ReplyDeleteI love having the photos,to be able to see what is happening out your way. Molly does look beautiful, doesn't she?
I promised you we'd help towards a few chickens as a Christmas present to you, so how is the chook pen going now? Is it the Chook Palace yet?
It's lovely to read something from you. I'm sorry I missed it earlier. Please keep posting, as it's always interesting to see what is happening.
Have a happy day!
xoxo
