On Thursday we brought home Smokey...and what an interesting night that was! (and my husband was no-where to be found!!)
Upon arriving home from Bribie Island (Smokey's home for the last 7 years) Smokey (who was already far from impressed with travelling in a cat cage) suddenly found herself confronted with the reality that she would no longer be living at the beach AND she would now be living with a (*ugh*) DOG!
Once Molly realised that there was a furry thing in the cage I was carrying, she became MOST interested!! Suffice it to say that the night was incredibly long!
Molly wanted to eat Smokey...
Smokey wanted to kill Molly...
And I just wanted some peace and quiet!
Once things had settled down a bit (resulting in Smokey taking up residence on the top of our big fridge) Molly had a sudden attack of Im-No-Longer-The-Only-Child Syndrome and promptly threw up!!
After cleaning this up, I retreated to the safety of my bed and fell asleep to the restful sounds of the cat meow-ing and the dog whining.
Upon waking up the next morning, I found that Molly had had yet another attack of the dreaded Syndrome, this time in the form of diahrrea!! I choose at this moment to mention that although she has once before thrown up in the house she has NEVER gone to the toilet EVER in the house before! And I am so glad for it!!!
Suffice it to say that my dear husband was again no-where to be found when clean up time came around!
All in all though, two days on things are much better! Well...not for Smokey - she's still on top of the fridge but its only a matter of time until she gets hungry enough to come down! :)
Well... I hope that things are soon all ok there, and that it all settles down - that Molly's tummy settles, and that Smokey eats! Although dogs and cats don't usually get along, I've never heard of a dog actually killing a cat though, have you?? Do you think that it will take long for them to get used to one another? Poor Molly, having to share your attention! And poor Smokey, leaving her home and finding she has to live with a dog!!
ReplyDeleteAnd poor you, cleaning up the messes!
Nice to hear from you though! :)

You poor thing. It is never fun cleaning up gross messes from anyone (including yourself). I hope it doesn't take long for Molly and Smokey to get along.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

This post gives me very vague memories of the night mum and dad brought micky home from the hospital.
ReplyDelete*violent shiver down my spine*
Tell Molly not to worry - her parents will still love her, and Smokey may even turn out to be an okay servant to bring her things when she can't be bothered getting them herself... lol!
LOVE YOU MICKY! :)
Thanks for the post Bec - classic :)
